Remember way back when (last week) I mentioned the thrifting in Salt Lake City?
You guys, it was insane. I finally forced myself to put down my new leopard purse long enough to take a picture of it. And a few other pretties too…
Purrfection. Right? And can I introduce you to my my other new love? That’d be my fabulous faux-fake (fingers crossed she’s the real deal) Fendi attaché case. In all honesty, and at this price point, I don’t think she is, but with those stripes I could care less.
Oh! And I’ve included prices because I like talking numbers. Also, I don’t think the lowest price point when thrifting necessarily means you got the best deal. Sometimes I’ll spend a bit more if it’s something I’m really gonna use. Like this workhorse, erhm, leopard bag.
But that’s not to say I don’t love me a good bargain! This ceramic/wood ashtray (with original tags) was only six bucks! This thing would have cost a fortune in LA! And it’s neon. So on trend SLC.
I’m also totally getting a bang for my buck with these baubles. I’ve worn them almost everyday since Salt Lake! And again with the neon.
And of course I couldn’t resist a few new (to me) pieces for the closet! You’ll have to keep an eye out for these in a future style post- the yolk on that middle shirt is crazy awesome. Or just crazy.
Big thanks + hugs to Liz Stanley for letting me crash her thrifting party AND introducing me to what can only be described as the best sugar crack pastry I’ve ever tasted. It’s also called Kouing-aman, and I’m obsessed. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit I’ve been tweeting with the bakery for tips to make my own…
And like all good Alt Adventures, there were some pretty fantastic folks along for the ride. Literally. I shared a car with Liz, the lovely ladies of Modern Kiddo and Jenny of Frecklewonder, who is a thrifting goddess.
Do you have any all-time favorite finds?
I think all of mine might be handbags…
ps. I downloaded those little starburst thingies from Pugly Pixel. She’s rad.

Aw thanks girl! It was sooo fun thrifting with you. And friends of Glitter and Ganache, I’ve seen these purchases in person and must say your girl Tabitha has quite the eye! The leopard is SPECTACULAR with a heavy, chunky chain. Really primo. And that Fendi looks even better in person, with chunky metal hardware. It sure looks real…..but even if its not, the shape and style is RAD.
Hope we can meet again!

I love seeing thrift reports from other cities. It should be, like, a feature on CNN or something. I am jealous, too, because I decided to move to a town with no thrift stores. Why? Because of love and commitment? Good grief. What was I thinking?!
Wowzers, that’s a lot of love + commitment!
What is it about thrift always seeming better in other cities? Some sort of ‘grass is greener’ phenomenon I guess.
So is the egg yolk on the yoke of that shirt? Or an egg pattern?
Ha ha!
Yes. The grass is greener (and cheaper) elsewhere.
As for the yoke, either you’re being funny or my spelling sucks…
I’ll look into that!
ah, SLC thrift shops! i shot a movie there a few years ago and found so many great things…
Oooh! You really had time then…I’m jealous!
What movie were you doing?
Hello! Glad to hear you had fun thrifting in Salt Lake city…I live in SLC and and Im wondering what were your favorite shops that you visited? I’m loving your “new” leopard bag! Lucky you

Thanks Ann! Check out my response to Shauna below!
I wish I’d had more time to check out more stores!
GREAT finds. I was shocked to see that you found these in SLC – I live here. Well, Park City, its very close neighbor. I have yet to find awesome thrift stores and would love the inside scoop on where the Alt crew took you guys. Do tell, do tell!
Thanks lady. xx Shaunna @ honorablementionme.blogspot.com
Oh- yay for Park City! I was bummed I didn’t get to make it up there when I was in Salt Lake!
And silly me, I can’t believe I didn’t mention the amazing stores!
We went to Decades aka handbag heaven, Abode, and a good old Deseret (right around the corner from Decades. Hope that helps and happy thrifting!
Love the image editing here. Gorgeous tray and fruits! Housewares are my weakness.
