So I haven’t exactly put away my wallet just yet, but I didn’t think I should let that stop me from sharing this easy (and cheapcheapcheap) DIY Flower with you guys. And it’s just in time for Valentine’s Day!
A holiday I celebrate purely for the crafting possibilities…
So grab an old shirt (or skirt, or anything really) and a pair of pinking shears and let’s go:
Someday I will be fancy enough to make you those downloadable PDF thingies I see around the blogosphere, until then, grab some card stock and do what I did: draw 2 different teardrop petal shapes, a square, and a few rectangles. Now cut ‘em out to use as your pattern!
Use 4 large petals to form a base.
Followed by 6 layered sets (small/large).
Add stamen + remaining small petals and finish with a button center. Flip over and finish back by stitching remaining square on only two sides, so that you can toss it on an existing necklace (like we did) OR use it to bobby pin your flower in place.
Pretty easy huh? And by my calculation, totally free!
Now you just need the pretty girl, LBD, and a sunny day…
It shouldn’t be hard, I bet most of you already have the first two in the bag!
And seriously, how do we feel about Valentine’s Day around here?

While the flower tutorial is awesome, I am dying over the dress in the last picture!
Oh gosh, me too! I really wish I was more successful at the clothes =/= happiness thing. Beautiful flower power though!
How cute! Love love love the flower
