It makes my heart hurt a little that we share the same ocean, but spend most of our lives so very far apart.
And it blows my mind.
But then the ocean always makes me a bit contemplative.

I’m so very happy I got to spend most of this trip just hanging out with family. Eating ice-cream by the roadside, picking strawberries, drinking (a lot!) around the dinner table, and visiting our shared ocean.
A perfect trip.
And now I’m crying my eyes out in Narita airport waiting for my flight back to LA.
More excitement, less nostalgia next week.
I promise.
Did I mention that I visited Calico Cat Cafe twice?
That’s right, a coffee shop where you hang out and play with cats…
