Actually, please don’t.
When the weather turned cold a few weeks ago, I dug this ratty purple sweater (redeemed only by its metallic thread!) out of my drawer and have been wearing it ever since. And racking up the compliments. It’s sparkle magic. It’s also the perfect weight for this weird LA weather we’re having- freezing cold all morning and then warming up to an, um, smelly alarming degree by midafternoon.
Oops. I thought these tights were slightly more opaque.
Here’s the details:
The Outfit: Purple Metallic Sweater from Urban Outfitters, Blouse from Tucker for Target, Skirt from J. Crew, Tights by Hue, Boots by Luxury Rebel, Purse from Clare Vivier, Glasses from SpexClub, Bracelets from J. Crew
Makes me Feel: Cozy. Nerdtastic.
The Photographer: That fantastic Kerri again.
The Location: DTLA
Coolest door ever, right?!
Is it sweater weather where you are yet?
And are you as big a fan of metallic thread as I am?

I like this look! We have similar weather here in SF – freezing in the morning, and warm (but probably not as hot as LA) in the afternoon. I wear tights every. single. day. And that is the coolest door ever!
Yes- our weather right now is very similar to SF and I agree- tights are definitely the way to go!
That letterpress door is amazing!!
I love the look! The hat + glasses combo is so fun.
Thanks! Sometimes it’s rough to strike a balance between warm/cute!
That door is fantastic! And I love the sweater!
It is sweater plus jacket weather where I am, southern Sweden, but I have a short sleeved sweater somewhat like that and I was determined to be able to wear it once this year so I just added a long tank top and a long sleeved shirt under it and was slightly cold but sometimes a good outfit is worth it!
What I hate about Chicago — we have very few cute sweater days where you don’t have to throw a bulky jacket over top. I’m seriously struggling with winter style right now! It went from days in the 60s with sun to days in the 30s with snow in less than a week. Boo.
I love those boots with those tights though – they look lovely!
I’m loving your hair length with that hat! And yes, I agree with all previous posts, the door is amazing. I swear I live in the same city as you, but I have never seen any of the fantastic photo locations you find. Perhaps a tour is in my future?! Ha ha!
